Description
An very good and complete condition example of the original 1964 EMI UK twin track, 3 & 3/4 ips mono reel to reel tape release of "Beatles For Sale" by The Beatles complete with the "Emitape" leaflet, the packing/warranty slip, and the small circular green and gold Parlophone logo sticker to the spool. Cat No TA-PMC-1240. Released at the same time as the original vinyl album in 1964.
Clean, intact lid and base, no split corners, intact and unbroken spool , clear printed red Part 1 leader tape and red trailing Part 2 leader tape, no pen markings/writing, no stains/marks to lid/base. Rare purchases in comparison to the vinyl LP in the 1960s, usually by audiophiles wanting top quality sound. Often ordered by the customer by special order, as some retailers did not stock them. Played throughout both sides and tested - perfect. Emitape leaflet and packing slip nice.
Glorious mono, the dominant format in 1964, can be played on four track stereo tape recorders. It is a pleasure to listen to the iconic Beatles albums without the usual "pop, crackle and hiss etc" of the vinyl format.
