Another from my personal collection of Beatles records, Collected over a period of more than 35 years! I have accumulated more than a 1000 Beatles albums alone (mainly UK pressings)! This particular 1st UK copy, I have owned this album since new!,, can you believe over 48 years ago!  The first thing to note, is that this vinyl has barely barely been played and I have owned this album from new and it has always been stored in a case seperated from the sleeve and cover for protection,, this is how I have always stored my records. This  is particularly sought after, being one of the earliest, with the 1st issue Garrod & Lofthouse flipback patents pending cover in absolutely superbe condition,, What is so special about this pressing is that it has barely ever been played!  Even rarer is the awesome top condition of the playing surface, normaly seen played to death but the audio plays  as perfect on my systems, (unbeleivably rare to find)! Played at very loud volume on a top system prior to listing using a dedicated mono  cartridge and probably the first time since I last played this over 40 years ago, this audio is awesome throughout crystal clear and very vibrant without distortion and no clicks or pops throughout the audio the awesome top quality audio which I would grade at least Excellent plus to near as mint (no) clicks or pops (no) audio sounding scratches or marks! (any background surface noise is minimal, and not heard on my systems)   This album is very near  perfect through out  (my only critasism  would be that I can see a stain mark at the rear bottom corner & on the bottom flipback (highlighted in photos) if looked at ! The rarety here is that this vinyl obviously has had bare minimal play only, and as time goes on, Beatles vinyls like this are becoming impossible to find!

These early Beatles originals are becoming rarer and rarer to find in this condition!

A HARD DAY'S NIGHT is the third album by the Beatles, released in the UK on 10 July 1964 as the soundtrack to their first film of the same name. The album was released on 26 June in the U.S. by United Artists Records with a slightly different tracklisting!!

While showcasing the development of the band's songwriting talents, the album sticks to the basic rock and roll instrumentation and song format.

It is notable as the first Beatles album to feature entirely original compositions (and the only one with a song catalogue credited entirely to Lennon-McCartney).

Some of the more famous songs on the album include the title track (with its distinct, instantly recognizable opening chord), and the catchy "Tell Me Why" and "Can't Buy Me Love", the latter of which was also a transatlantic number one single for the band. It also features "And I Love Her", the first of Paul McCartney's distinctive and popular ballads.

The album and film are said to portray the classic image of the Beatles, as it was released at the height of Beatlemania!!.

The title of the album (and of the film) is said to have been the accidental creation of drummer Ringo Starr, though the phrase is used in John Lennon's contemporary book "In His Own Write" and was reputedly used at least once by him during the Hamburg era!!.

Side one of the LP contains the songs from the movie soundtrack. Side two contains songs recorded for, but not included in, the film, although a 1980s rerelease of the movie includes a prologue before the opening credits with "I'll Cry Instead" on the soundtrack.

This is also the first Beatles album to be recorded on four-track tape, allowing for good stereo mixes. Despite this, the CD of this album is currently available only in mono, though many of the tracks appeared in stereo on CD for the first time with the release of the boxset The Capitol Albums, Volume 1 in 2004!!.

The Vinyl

This is the original thick, heavy and chunky slab of vinyl, only found like this on the earliest pressings. Later press are much more flimsier and less robust!. The first thing to note, is that this vinyl has had barely a handfull of plays only and I have owned this album from new and it has always been stored in a case seperated from the sleeve and cover for protection,, this is how I have always stored my records. On initial inspection the vinyls playing surface is awesome, any marks\scuffs that could possibly be seen under a strong light would be sleeve removal only and I find it hard to see any at all, if there are any these would defanatively be non audio sounding and nothing detrimental to the audio and nothing that would cause any loud clicks or pops or indeed any interference during the audio that I could hear even at mega loud volume! I would class myself as highly critical, please look at my completed listings of records that I have sold of this calaber and you will see that I normally get it right!  IMPORTANTLY THERE ARE (NO) AUDIO SOUNDING MARKS OR SCRATCHES ON THIS PLAYING SURFACE!

The Audio Quality

I have carefully played this vinyl track for track at very loud volume, on a top system using a dedicated mono cartridge two times prior to listing.

The first thing to note is that there is no distortion or any signs that this has been overplayed and no signs of any grooveware at all. The audio is absolutely stunning,, a first class sounding copy, crystal clear and very vibrant absolutely awesome to mono audio throughout! The audio was as good as it gets on my systems, importantly (no) clicks, ticks or pops during the audio at all that I heard, (no) nasty background crackle and certainly (no) skips or jumps! In between tracks there was some minor static heard only this was very minimal!

(NO) LOUD CLICKS OR POPS IMPORTANTLY (NO) DISTORTION (NO) SKIPS OR JUMPS!   (So rare for a genuine Beatles 48 year old record like this)! I must emphasize the audio is stunning (no) distortion Audio is graded at the top on all frequencies! GRADED AT LEAST  EXCELLENT PLUS TO NEAR  PERFECT\NEAR MINT THROUGHOUT!

Please note! I always add this disclaimer! Please allow for the odd light static in between tracks or quiet places but not consistent throughout the audio. Please remember that this is a genuine 47 year old vinyl that would have originally been played on a 47 year old system! Audio graded as almost as good as it gets on my systems!

Important note! This vinyl has been stored in a case laying dormant for over 35 years! A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves over the years causes static ticks and crackle. A constant clean before each play is highly recomended. This will reduce any static and will enhance the audio quality.

THE MATRIX

 XEX 481-3N

XEX 482-3N (1ST PRESS ONLY)

MOTHER STAMPERS

SIDE 1.''3'' ''AGH''

SIDE 2 ''2'' ''RPH''

I would grade this audio playback as superbe! It will be hard to find better!

The labels

This features the K.T. tax code on side 1 in line with the correct year! Visual inspection it is obvious that this vinyl has barely ever been played no more than a handful of times since new over 48 years old! Visualy there is spider mark that can be seen when angled to the light, that are perhaps wide of the spindle (to be critical) but there are just a few and there is little if no spindleware the hole is perfectly round! It is my opinion together with the awesome top audio quality that this vinyl has obviously just had very minimal play only and has obviously been well looked after by myself only and has definately not been over played!  that's all!! ''RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1963'' IS FEATURED AND ''THE PARLOPHONE & CO.......'' Around the label rim (only 1st press)Please note! The label text features the smallest type style (only found on the earliest pressings) '' SOLD IN THE UK...'' is featured (only early press)

The Cover

The original and rarest to ever find in this awesome condition! Super glossy appearance  Garrod & Lofthouse  printed flipback cover (only 1st UK press), Amaizingly (no) real nasty creases to talk of, just minor light odd small  half moon type laminate creases only!  Please note! This cover which has been protected in a case and seperated from the vinyl is in unbeleivably top condition! The super glossy front has barely any real nasty storageware to mention and amaizingly any ringware or rubbing is just barely noticable if looked for only when angled to the light. No splits or tares at all. The fact that this has been seperated and protected for all of these years has preserved this awesome cover!     (VERY VERY RARE TO FIND LIKE THIS) Even the rear is exceptionaly clean. I must point out that I can see a stain mark at the rear botton corner noticed in the flipback, I have highlighted this in the photos. any other staining marks or ware with age is very very minimal in my opinion  and only really noticable if looked for or scrutinised! But this is nice and tidy and straight as it should be. PLEASE DO NOT UNDERESTEMATE THE RARETY IN THIS AWESOME CONDITION ,

This cover must grade at least excellent in my opinion if not better!

 The Record Sleeve

This is the original poly lined Emitex sleeve with 'Important' with just light creasings with age only becoming fragile with age, no splits or tares! The vinyl is now seperated from the sleeve and cover for protection.

THIS ALBUM HAS OBVIOUSLY BEEN KEPT IN A CLEAR RECORD PROTECTOR DURING ITS STORAGE LIFE AND WILL ALSO BE DESPATCHED WITH THE ALBUM.
