Help! is the fifth album by The Beatles, and the soundtrack album from their film of the same name, Help!

Produced by George Martin for EMI Records, the album (in its original British form) contains seven songs that appeared in the movie of the same name, and seven that did not, including the most covered song in history, the Paul McCartney ballad "Yesterday".

The critically-acclaimed album also features two transatlantic number one singles: "Ticket to Ride" and the title song. Tracks like Lennon's "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away" indicate the influence of Bob Dylan and folk music. In later years, Lennon said that the title track of the album was a sincere cry for help, as the pressures of the Beatles' fame and his own unhappiness (what he later called his "fat Elvis" period) began to build, and that he regretted turning it from a downbeat song in the style of Roy Orbison's "Only the Lonely" to an upbeat pop song as a result of commercial pressures.

McCartney contributed "Yesterday", "Another Girl", "The Night Before", and "I've Just Seen a Face" (which appeared with "It's Only Love" on the U.S. version of Rubber Soul).

George Harrison contributed "I Need You" and "You Like Me Too Much". These were Harrison's first song compositions to be included on a Beatles album since "Don't Bother Me", from 1963's

The vinyl

This is the original heavy thick and chunky vinyl only found on 1st pressings like this! The vinyl is flat with no warps! still retain its sheen from new!

This vinyl unfortunately has surface marks and scratches\scuffs on the plus point the audio is quite exceptional which no signs of distortion or that this has been overplayed at all! (a really enjoyable sounding copy despite the marks) There are some (i would class light clicks on some tracks) not consistant throughout the audio and in my opinion nothing too bad to spoil the overall enjoyment. i must emphise that the audio is quite exceptional for this very rare and hard to find copy! ORIGINAL 1ST PRESS STEREO!

1st uk press labels with the YELLOW AND BLACK PARLONE LABELS feature ''sold in the uk .....'' (only 1st press) spidering can be seen angled to the light but amaizingly this does not look like it has been overplayed at all in my opinion!

This is in truely amaizing condition! GARROD & LOFTHOUSE printed flipback cover!! with hardly any creasings worth to mention. very slight split beginning to show at the bottom edge. The spine is superbe! the rear is exceptionally clean (see photos) rarely seen like this!!!!!
