Here we have an album I am very loath to sell, a superb condition copy of the Beatles' slip-cased box set of Let it Be complete with a pristine copy of the accompanying book. This was given the number PXS 1 and was designed by John Kosh with photographs by Ethan A. Russell. Sadly, I don't have the capability of making my item look as good as the one recently sold by Parlogram on here, but I hope you'll be able to see what a beautiful item this is an in such spectacular order. I would prefer to keep this album but as I have been out of work for a long time I need to generate some money from somewhere or other. The outer case is glossy and clean although there is a wrinkle in the black laminate beside the picture of John Lennon and a much smaller one on the other side beside Paul McCartney. It was 'Printed and made in Great Britain by Garrod & Lofthouse Limited (Patents Pending)'. The inner box is also in good order, but there is a small tear at the bottom of the the inner tray which is just covered by the left hand flap of the outer part which you'll see in the fifth picture above. The book is a delight to see, clean and crisp with just a very small dent at the bottom. The spine is clearly legible and the book has been very well treated, probably only cursorily glossed over. The cover of the record is flawless; not a crease anywhere. The spine is clearly legible and bears a red Apple logo, which I'm told is probably not as rare as I hoped it was. The vinyl itself is in a similar condition to the cover; glossy and flat with silent grooves to welcome the listener in on both sides. It really is like new with no real evidence of play around the centre holes. The dead wax matrices are YEX 773 2-U and YEX 774 2-U suggesting a very early pressing. The inner bag is clean, flat and bearing the patent number 1,125,555. It also proudly states that it was MADE IN ENGLAND. If you'd like to see any more pictures, contact me and I'll get it sorted out for you. As I am so loath to let this item go I really want it to go to a collector who really will treasure it. I have had it for many years and have kept it like a prized antique, but items like this were meant to be played and enjoyed. It's a record for the Lord's sake, that's what it was made for.
