Beatles Please Please Me - the early issue on the black and gold Parlophone label, mono No. PMC1202 matix numbers XEX421-1N and XEX422-1N, Dick James Credits. Bought this record recently at an auction, it is not in top condition but it is not wrecked either so I am listing it as in used condition. I'm going to start with side 2 first, this has marks/scuffs/scratches but not deep scratches that sound, in fact side 2 plays really well with no skips or jumps with a clear unworn sound even in between the tracks. There some crackles and pops but nothing bad at all and I would rather own this with the sound it reproduces than have one of those new re-issues that I have heard. Side 1 is not a lot different to side 2 apart from that there is a jump on the 1st track, and if you look at the photos there is like line that runs around the record and a small mark, you can feel the mark and see the line but not feel it but is seems like its been damaged somehow, where the jump is the sound also slightly distorted for a couple of revolutions of the record, the only other fault is there is a small jump on the track Boys (track 5) apart form that the side plays well and the sound is very good so although that the record does have as mentioned some marks and scratches they are not deep or ones that you can feel, so an LP that you can play and enjoy. The cover has photo Angus McBean this cover has had various repairs, there's residue of tape that has been removed before and the top and bottom edges are taped, there is also staining on the back, the opening edge (see pics) is very worn/split/tears etc, this is thick cardboard so im not sure how early a press this is, edges of the cover are very worn and the front cover has a lot of creasing. I have really tried to be as accurate as I can with this listing but I am selling this LP with definitely no returns, please make sure you understand this if you intend to bid, I will add that the record was played on very good hifi equipment and I do think that the record may benefit even further if it was cleaned professionally but as I've mentioned before please note there is a fault on side on track one and the one jump on track 5.
