BEATLES Please Please Me Red Parlophone 1st Pressing

Rare opportunity to get your hands on a very nice copy of the first pressing of this early Beatles classic.

The record is in excellent condition with only some slight surface marks preventing an even better grading. It plays exceptionally well with only some very light crackle on the run in betraying its age. The label is bright and clear with only minute signs of wear(the scans have made the colour look fainter but they give you a more accurate view of the details than a photo).

It is housed in the original "type A" company sleeve which is in very good condition. It ha ssome creases but no tears, again the scan has made the colours look less bright than they are.

As you can see the label is the red Parlaphone and carries the upper and lower case "The Parlaphone Company..." rim information and "Recording First Published 1963". It is without "Sold In The UK..." as is correct for first pressings.

Matrix number on the vinyl is 7XCE 17217 -1N,on the labelthere is a 45 instead of the -1N.

Postage rates are as follows:

UK 12" or LP £2.50 this is for first class postage in a professional mailer with stiffeners where necessary.

Double albums are £3.50

UK 7"  £1 again this is for first class in  decent mailer with stiffener.

EUROPE 12" or LP £3.50 this is for small packet airmail which is reasonably fast (usually 3-4 days after posting)

EUROPE 7" £1.50 again small packet airmail.

USA 12" or LP sorry but the dollar is weak against the pound at present so postage is £4.30. This is for small packet airmail which ususally takes around 5 working days but can be 7 or 8 days quite frequently.

USA 7" £2.50

CDS - any CDs are charged at 7" rates unless they have very heavy packaging in which case I'll state the rate on the listing.

I will use the cheaper surface mail options if you request them but I find them extremely slow and far more likely to lead to damage.

I am very happy to combine multiple buys to save you money on postage but I might not remember to do this when I invoice you. If it looks like I forgot please remind me, I won't be offended and it will save you money!

If You Aren't Happy With Your Stuff:

I'm not an unscrupulous multinational businessman and I reckon there is no need for anyone to lose out on any deal - ebay works on trust. I grade records by the UK Record Collector system but at busy times I grade them by sight and only play them if there are marks that look like they might cause a problem. I might occassionally make a mistake so if you feel this is the case please get in touch as I am always happy to offer a refund if goods are returned. If, on return, I agree that the mistake was mine I will also refund your postage costs.

RECORD COLLECTOR GRADINGS

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as lyric sheet etc are in perfect condition.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and /or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times but displays no major major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occassional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items , without any major defects is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound qulity has  has noticeably deteriorated , perhaps with some distortion or mild scratches. The cover and contents suffre from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration etc

Anything less than very good will only be listed if it is likely to be of interest due to being very rare. Any job lots or collections should be of records that are all very good or better.

If I believe a record falls between two gradings then I'll use the lower grading with a + or give two gradings . For example a record which is in mint condition might be in a cover which is slightly creased and would only be excellent. In this case I would grade it as excellent+ or mint/excellent.
