BEATLES - REVOLVER 1966 PARLOPHONE PMC 7009 606-1 UK 1ST MONO DR ROBERT REMIX 11

Note: All records are professionally cleaned prior to grading on an Okki Nokki RCM using L’Art Du Son cleaning fluid. This does not restore a record to brand new, but rather removes the majority of dust and dirt to leave a record (and it’s audio) as clean as possible.
Year
1966
Label
PARLOPHONE
Matrix Numbers

XEX 605-2 5 GL

XEX 606-1 2 RP

Sleeve

The sleeve appears to be in VG condition with some feelable marks caused by a previous owner leaving the plastic centre from a 45 in the sleeve and general shelf and usage wear from over the years.

Vinyl

Visually the record appears to be in VG- condition with some scuffs, scratches and sleeve marks under a bright light. Unforutnately most of these marks are caused by some ‘fool’ leaving the plastic centre from a 45 in the sleeve! If it weren’t for these marks, it would be a VG+ :(

I have listened to the album in full and it sounds very good indeed. I has some surface noise and repeating pops/ticks periodically where the marks have occurred (mainly first few tracks of side one and then they start to fade with only the odd one noticeable). The instruments and vocals really shine through on my system. Most importantly, Tomorrow Never Knows sounds fantastic!

A thoroughly enjoyable copy of this withdrawn rarity, but not one for the ultimate audiophile or perfectionist.

Remix 11 Story

"First pressing, August 5, 1966. “Remix 11” mispressing. Side 2 matrix no.: XEX 606-1 have “Remix 11” of “Tomorrow Never Knows”. When “Revolver” was initially mixed a different master for “Tomorrow Never Knows” was sent off to be pressed. This mix is known as ‘Remix 11’. Although subtle, it is different to the standard ‘Remix 8’ which was ultimately to replace it. The story goes that each group member was given the first copies from the production line and John went to listen to it. But, it turned out that he was unhappy with the mix or that the wrong one had been used and he informed George Martin. Production was then stopped as the new masters were cut and the pressing plates were replaced. First presses have a side 2 matrix number of XEX 606-1 whereas the standard presses have XEX 606-2 and beyond."

Record Collectors Grading System
MINT (M): The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
The use of + or - allows for items that fall between the above grades.
