1965 ORIGINAL CONTRACT FIRST PRESSING WP1/T2 MATRIX
T-2442 ~ CAPITOL RECORDS ~ MONO

A beautiful set, it is complete with the 1965 Olive Green Inner Sleeve and is a Rare Contract Pressing. 
When the Beatles received huge pre-orders for a release (as was the case here) Capitol Records (which pressed on flat non indented labels) would find itself overwhelmed by the demands on their many pressing plants.  As a result they would contact one of three labels for assistance and "contract" their presses to create the albums needed to fill the orders.  Those labels were Columbia, ABC (I believe but cannot find my darn Spizer book to confirm this one) and RCA and each labels pressings were identified by the indented rings in the labels of the records, along with slightly different matrix numbers.  So here we have one identified by the smallest of the three ring sets, it is a beauty that plays exceptionally well.

VINYL is VISUALLY GRADED as EXCELLENT PLUS and PLAY GRADED as NEAR MINT MINUS  No scratches or hairlines and nothing to be felt with fingertips, this LP has Very light, sporadic surface scuffing which does not produce any repeating tics, clicks or pops and certainly No jumps or skips.  The ULTRA light crackle which can only be very sporadically heard is more of a light static sound than demonstrative crackling....play's very nicely indeed.

LABELS are GRADED as MINT No spindle marks, writing or damage, clean.

JACKET is VISUALLY GRADED as EXCELLENT PLUS  No seam splits, No ring wear (which is quite rare especially for the front of this particular set), square corners and a general darkened patina around the seam line and a bit on the back white finish and there is some light butterscotch colored speckling of time and handling along the bottom back, No RIAA number either.  The title seam is fully legible and there is a small 1/3rd of inch segment where the T-2442 is at the bottom of the seam that is slightly cracked but not at all separated.

1965 OLIVE GREEN INNER SLEEVE is NEAR MINT and without splits, has No writing and No rips or tears of any kind and is totally flat.
