Description

The Beatles - SGT PEPPER'S LONELY
HEARTS CLUB BAND
Toshiba Musical Industries Ltd. Japan
Apple Records AP-8163
Extremely Rare Red Vinyl w/ Red OBI!

This extremely rare copy of The Beatles' Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is one of
the first pressings after The Beatles record catalog were switched to Apple
Finding a nice copy of this is nearly impossible!

Why so rare?...
The only OBI that was unique is Sgt Pepper's LHCB which
was printed in Red with Yellow Border, and did not use the
Dark Green OBI with "Arrow" as the rest of the 1st pressings.
Also all Beatles records released by Toshiba through 1970 were available on regular Black Vinyl
and on higher quality (low noise) Red Vinyl.
It is this Red Vinyl that is most coveted by record collectors!

The Beatles  SGT PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND
Apple Records                  AP-8163                  STEREO
1st press on Apple (as in 2nd press after Odeon Label)
Dark Red Vinyl on gatefold laminated cover
Red OBI with Yellow Border

Record: EX+ with very minor hairline scratches, nothing deep (as close to near mint as it can get. Visual grading only).  Labels are clean.
Laminated Gatefold Cover: EX+, again as close to near mint. Surface is sharp with no spine splits and minimal corner wear. Very nice.
(Unlike the U.S./U.K. versions, this was not issued with the Sgt. Peppers cut-out inserts. It includes the Black Sleeve that was standard for Apple LPs)
OBI: NM, no tear or split.
