BEATLES SGT. PEPPERS LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND 1967 1st PRESSING LP MONO & INSERT. I bought this LP in 1967 and have had it ever since. It has the Matrix XEX 637-1 and 638-1. PMC 7027. This Mono vinyl LP has the characteristic black and yellow Parlophone label with 'The Gramaphone Co Ltd' and 'Sold In The UK' text.
I always cleaned my records before playing and still do. The vinyl is in good condition, with light surface scratches which produce slight surface noise intermittently on both sides although side 2 is slightly louder at the very beginning of the side, fading away. I played it for the first time in 50 years on my Linn Sondeck yesterday to check there are no jumps and sticking. It plays straight through. There are spindle marks around the centre hole.
The laminated gatefold cover is pretty good front and back but there is damage to the spine and corners. Please look at the photos for detail. The card insert is intact and in excellent condition. It has the original white sleeve liner which is creased at the corners.
I am not an expert in vinyl but have given my best appraisal of this record. Please let me know if you would like more info.
