Description
This is an original, UK 1st pressing of The BEATLES - SGT. PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND
UK 1967, MONO, WIDE SPINE (8mm) variant : PMC 7027
Comes complete with cardboard inserts and red & white inner inner sleeve
MATRIX NUMBERS : Side 1 - XEX 637 - 1, Side 2 - XEX 638 - 1
The outer sleeve is in very good + condition with just some scuffing on the corners (though not on the edges, which are excellent), the spine has a crease half-way along (see photo), there is also some mild distortion on the inside of the spine, and a 5cm tear on the right hand side upper flap which has beeb tastefully repaired. The gloss and quality of the artwork & photos remains excellent.
The condition of the vinyl is very good : much of the original sheen has been retained though there are a number of surface hairlines and scuffs - no deep scratches.
The condition of the cardboard cutouts is near perfect.
The red & white inner sleeve is also very good + with no splits, though there is a vertical 1cm tear at the top and a horizontal crease towards the bottom. It still performs it's function admirably.
The record labels are both excellent with just some minor spindle wear and ony a few very minor, superficial surface blemishes. The "K" and "T" tax codes on side 2 are clearly visible.
The quality of the audio is also very good : there is some mild background crackle throughout though nothing to significantly detract from the overall fine audio quality. There is a split second, minor sound distortion on track 1 (side 1) towards the end of the track (you wouldn't notice it unless you were looking for it), and on track 1 (side 2) there is a very mild background soft click for about the first third of this track.

Overall the condition of this rare, and increasingly highly sought after 44 year old gem is VERY GOOD+ : not perfect or near mint, however, so if you're looking for a perfect/near mint copy (do they exist?!) then don't bid.

Mint
Description: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint. Excellent Description: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. Very Good Description: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. Good Description: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc. Fair Description: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced. Poor Description: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing. Bad Description: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
