The BEATLES. 45 rpm vinyl record. Original Beatles release from summer 1964. Nice VG+ vinyl, mostly clean and shiny. My second highest grade. And VG+ labels with no writing (though there is sticker removal patch on one side, slightly noticeable. But this is still very nice! These 2 songs: CRY FOR A SHADOW (instrumental) and WHY (Can’t you love me again). This was MGM’s only follow up single to MY BONNIE (which sold a million in March ‘64). SHADOW is classic example of Beatles Hamburg Rock, way back in May1961 when Lennon was 20, McCartney and Harrison each 18, and Pete Best on drums! It’s still a great club rocker written by Harrison/ Lennon and featuring there dueling guitars and McCartney’s background shouts. It still gives me goosebumps to imagine seeing it performed!! And WHY is a Tony Sheridan sing and written ballad why a haunting theme! Very nice (Beatles backing him). Sheridan recorded several times with different backing groups called The Beat Brothers!!
