BEATLES UK – ‘A Collection of Beatles Oldies’ LP, rare Stereo labels.

PCS 7016 – original black and yellow Parlophone Labels.

An early UK press in 100% original condition.

An interesting label variation that features the ‘Sans Serif’ font. This Stereo compilation LP released in late 1966 normally appears with the ‘Roman’ font, letter style, but this copy features:

1. hard to find Stereo labels with the ‘Sans Serif’ font letter style,

2. these labels feature the original year of release dates for the various tracks on the LP, this text normally appears under the ‘YEX ***’ text on the labels. But on these particular labels this text also appears under the records catalogue number as well !, ie the  ‘PCS 7016’ text !,

b. looking more closely at this text on the labels there is an inconsistent use of ‘commas’ and ‘full stops’, ie  ‘,’ and  ‘.’  !

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE:  is in very good condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated. The spine is very good condition and all the text on the spine is readable. The sleeve has the original ‘Patents Pending’ text that is printed on the bottom flipback. To the rear of the sleeve it features the original tri-flipback design. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in near excellent condition and is the original period EMI black and white advertising sleeve.  There are NO tears, stains, pen writing, splits, stickers or sticker residue. 

THE VINYL: side one is in very good+ condition, side two is in very good++ condition. It is made from the original period thick, heavy vinyl, it has remained dark and glossy.

The Matrix are:   YEX 619  - 1G   and   YEX 620  -  1G,   

The Mother / Stampers are:   ‘ 3   R O  ’    and   ‘ 3   R O ’, the same each side !.   

THE AUDIO: is near excellent, it plays with some crackle.  The record plays well without any sticking or jumps from the needle.

THE LABELS: side one is in near excellent condition, side two is in excellent condition. There are NO letters embossed around the spindle hole on the labels. The labels are free from any pen writing, sticker residue or stickers.

BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
