BEATLES UK – ‘A Collection of Beatles Oldies’ LP, rare mispress Stereo label.

PCS 7016 – original black and yellow Parlophone Labels.

A later UK pressing from mid 1969 in 100% original condition.

This record has a number of interesting variations, featuring:

1. as this is a later issue of this Stereo compilation it features the hard to find labels with the ‘Sans Serif’ font letter style,

2. the text ‘Sold in UK’ etc does not appear on each label,

3. on label two the publishing credit for the track ‘Bad Boy’ has not been printed on the label ! ie the text ‘Mecolico’ that normally appears under the text ‘Northern songs’ is missing !, but the ‘crucifix’ symbol still appears by the song title !,

4. on each label there is a ‘dot’ between the records catalogue reference, ie it reads ‘PCS . 7016’,

5. there is an odd inconsistency on each of the labels with ‘dots’ / ‘punctuation marks’, ie to the dates and to the end of the song titles !,

6. by mid 1969 the embossed letters, ‘KT’ would have officially been removed from the labels, but on this copy the letters ‘KT’ still appear around the spindle hole on side one,

7. on the card sleeve, there is normally a ‘Stereo’ logo printed to the top front right, but on this sleeve the Stereo logo is missing !

8. on the rear, top right of the sleeve is the original price label, it reads ‘Bentalls 39/11’. Bentalls was and still is a long established high quality British store.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE:  is in excellent condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated. The spine is in excellent condition and all of the text on the spine can be read. The sleeve is the original ‘Patents Pending’ text sleeve that is printed on the bottom flipback. The rear of the sleeve features the original tri-flipback design. The rear of the sleeve has remained a very clean white in colour. There are NO tears, splits, stains or pen writing.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent condition and is the original period EMI red and white advertising sleeve.  There are NO tears, stains, pen writing, splits, stickers or sticker residue.

THE VINYL: side one is in excellent+ condition, side two is in near excellent condition. It is made from the original period thick, heavy vinyl, it has remained very dark and glossy.

The Matrix are:   YEX 619  - 1G   and   YEX 620  -  1G,

The Mother / Stampers are:   ‘ 2   A L ’    and   ‘ 4  M R ’.

THE AUDIO: is excellent, there is little to spoil the listening pleasure. The record lays flat on the turntable and plays well without any sticking or jumps from the needle.

THE LABELS: side one is in excellent condition, side two is in excellent+ condition. The letters ‘KT’ are embossed around the spindle hole on side one. The labels are free from any pen writing, sticker residue or stickers.

PACKING  -  ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION.BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
