BEATLES UK – A Hard Days Night & Rubber Soul rare ridged label, original LPs.

A Hard Days Night, original 1964 mono LP.

PMC 1230 – original first UK issue black and yellow Parlophone labels.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in good++ condition, the front is laminated. The spine is in very good+ condition and all the text on the spine is clear to read. The rear of the sleeve has the period tri flipback design. Theres NO pen writing, stickers or sticker residue to the sleeve. There is a 15mm tear to the rear, middle opening edge and a 10mm tear to the front middle opening edge and some age related discolouring to the rear of the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in very good condition and is the original period EMI ‘Use Emitex’ sleeve. Theres NO pen writing stickers or sticker residue to the sleeve. There is a split to one of the side edges and some ‘fraying’ to the top, back opening edge.

THE RECORD: is in good++ condition, it has remained dark and glossy. The record is made from the original 1960s thick, heavy vinyl.

The matrix  nos. are:  XEX  481 – 3N  and  XEX  482 – 3N,

The mother / stampers are:  ‘ 4  P T ’  and  ‘ 4  H R’.

THE AUDIO: plays excellent+, an excellent playing copy, it plays with relatively little crackle from the grooves. It plays with an excellent clear, loud period mono sound. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: are in excellent+ condition, the letters ‘K T’ are embossed around the spindle hole on side one. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers and sticker residue.

PMC 1267 - original 1965 mono yellow and black Parlophone labels.

An early UK issue album in original condition, featuring:

1. side one, the record label has an unusual ‘ridge’ to it, it is believed that these rare ridged labels were a result of EMI re employing old pressing machines,

2. side two on the record label there are the letters ‘MT’ embossed around the spindle hole. Technically this is incorrect for a record made in 1965, as the ‘MT’ code was no longer used after July 1963, this inconsistency helps to tie in with the ridged label,

3. the record has EMI format mother / stampers.

4. the sleeve is made by the more unusual printers of E J Day, as most of the Rubber Soul flipback sleeves were made by the printers ‘Garrod and Lofthouse’,

5. the record has different labels each side, as the label on side one has the ‘Sans Serif’ font, but on side two, the label has the ‘Times Roman’ font !,

CONDITION:

THE RECORD: side one is in good+ condition, side two is in good++ condition. The record is made from the original 1960s thick, heavy vinyl. The record has remained dark and glossy.

The matrix nos. are:  XEX  579 - 4  and  XEX  580 - 4,  

The mother / stampers are:   ‘ 11   R T P ’ and ‘ 14   A M M ’.

THE AUDIO: is untested, I would imagine the record will play with some ‘tick’, ‘pops’ and possibly some light crackle. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: side one is in excellent condition, side two is in excellent+ condition. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

PACKING  -  ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION.BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
