BEATLES UK – Abbey Road LP, very first press, misaligned apple logo sleeve and black inner sleeve.

1969 PCS 7088 - apple record labels.

A UK very first press album in 100% original condition, featuring:

1. a Misaligned APPLE logo mispress on the rear of the sleeve,

2. on side two of the record label the track ‘Her Majesty’ is not printed nor is it printed on the rear of the sleeve, but the track DOES play on the record !

3. this record comes with its original ‘apple records’, black inner sleeve, it is now considered that the very first pressings of this LP came with these black inner sleeves,

4. the record label on side one has an unusual ‘textured surface’, the label on side two has the regular ‘smooth’ finish to the label.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent condition, the sleeve is laminated front and rear. The spine is in excellent condition and all the text on the spine is clear to read. As this is a very first pressing of this album it features the Apple logo on the rear of the sleeve misaligned, to the left !. EMI were quick to correct this and very soon the sleeves were changed and the Apple logo was correctly aligned with the song listing. There are NO stains, pen writing, splits, tears, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition and is the original ‘apple’ records BLACK inner sleeve. There are NO stains, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. There is a small tear 5mm around the ‘die cut hole’ and an edge split to one of the sides and some small ‘nicks’ to the opening edges.

THE VINYL: side one is in very good+ condition, side two is in very good++ condition. The vinyl is made from the period thick, heavy vinyl. It has remained clean, dark and glossy.

The Matrix are: YEX 749 - 2 and YEX 750 - 1,

The mother/stampers are:  ‘ 9  M O D ’  and  ‘ 7  A R L ’,

THE AUDIO: is very good, it plays with some ‘crackle’ and some light ‘ticks’ here and there. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: are in excellent condition. As this is a very first pressing side one shows a DARK Green Apple colour. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

PACKING  -  ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION.BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
