BEATLES UK – Abbey Road LP, double mis pressed sleeve, black inner, first UK issue.

1969 PCS 7088 - Apple record labels.

A UK very first issue from September 1969, in original condition, featuring:

1. a mis aligned apple logo mis press on the rear of the sleeve,

2. the front photo image on the sleeve has been mis pressed !. See photo, the VW Beetle registration plate is ‘out of focus’. On regular sleeves this registration plate is clear to read, the rear photo image is correctly, ‘in focus’,

3. comes with its original ‘Apple’ black inner sleeve,

4. the track ‘Her Majesty’ is not printed on the record label or on the rear of the sleeve, but this track plays on the record !.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent condition, the sleeve is laminated front and rear. The laminate has retained its original glossy finish. The two opening edges have remained clean. The original ‘thin’ spine is in excellent condition and has remained clean, white and straight and all the text on the spine is clear to read. As this is a very first UK issue of this album it features the apple logo on the rear of the sleeve, misaligned !, to the left. EMI were quick to correct this and very soon the sleeves were changed and the apple logo was correctly aligned with the songs listing. There are NO stains, pen writing, splits, tears, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in near excellent condition and is the original period ‘Apple’ black inner sleeve. These original ‘Apple’ black inner sleeves are known to be very ‘fragile’, but this sleeve has been very well preserved. There are NO tears, edge splits, stains, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. There is a small ‘nick’ to the front, left opening edge. To the rear left, middle opening edge there are two small, ‘nicks’.

THE RECORD: side one is in near excellent condition, and side two is in very good++ condition. The record is made from the quality 1960s, period, thick heavy vinyl. It has remained very dark and glossy.

The matrix are: YEX 749 - 2 and YEX 750 - 1,

The mother / stampers are: ‘ 9 G A H ’ and ‘ 2 G A ’,

THE AUDIO: is excellent++, it plays with excellent quiet grooves. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: side one is in very good++ condition. Side two is in excellent condition. As this is a very first UK issue side one shows a DARK green ‘apple’ colour. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
