BEATLES UK – Abbey Road LP, UK first issue, mis aligned apple logo sleeve.

1969 PCS 7088 - Apple record labels.

A UK very first issue album from 1969 in original condition, featuring:

1. a mis aligned apple logo mis press on the rear of the sleeve,

2. on side two of the record label, the track ‘Her Majesty’ is not printed, nor is it printed on the rear of the sleeve, but the track plays on the record !

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent condition, the sleeve is laminated front and rear. This laminate has an excellent glossy quality finish to it. The original period ‘thin’ spine is in excellent condition and has remained fresh, white and clean and all the text on the spine is clear to read. The four corners of the sleeve and the two opening edges of the sleeve have remained crisp and sharp. As this is a very first issue of this album, from September 1969, it features the mis pressed apple logo on the rear of the sleeve misaligned, to the left !. EMI were quick to correct this and very soon the sleeves were changed and the apple logo was correctly aligned with the song listing. There are NO stains, pen writing, splits, tears, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent condition and is the original period ‘Patent 1,125,555’ sleeve. The sleeve is made from the original heavy grade quality paper with a textured surface inside. The two opening edges of the sleeve have remained clean for its age. Theres NO pen writing, splits, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. There is a small 10mm tear to the bottom front, left and some slight age related marks to the rear.

THE RECORD: side one is in near MINT condition. Side two is in excellent+ condition. The condition of the record has been graded under normal daylight conditions. The record is made from the period 1960s thick, heavy vinyl. It has remained very dark and glossy and looks as if it has received very little play.

The matrix are: YEX 749 - 2 and YEX 750 - 1,

The mother / stampers are: ‘ 6 O M M ’ and ‘ 1 M R M’,

THE AUDIO: is MINT, the best playing copy I have heard for a long time. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: are in near MINT condition and suggest very little play. As this is a very first issue, side one shows a dark green apple colour. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
