BEATLES UK – Beatles for Sale LP, one EMI box, mis pressed sleeve.

1969 PCS 3062 - one EMI box Parlophone record labels.

A UK press album in original condition, featuring:

1. the original inside, flipback gatefold sleeve has been mis pressed !. On the rear of the sleeve the photo image, see photo, the background ie the leaves etc have been printed much lighter and the image of the Beatles have a curious ‘heavily edited outline edge’ to it !. See the comparison photo I have taken, the image to the left is a copy of a regular sleeve, the image on the right is of the sleeve for sale. Could this have been an early proof sleeve when the printers were first designing the sleeve ?,

2. the sleeve has another mis press, for when the gatefold sleeve is opened the photo images appear a lot darker and grainy !, see the comparison photo I have taken, ie the image to the left is of the sleeve for sale, the image to the right is of a regular sleeve which is much lighter. All of the photo images that appear within the gatefold sleeve appear much darker and grainy.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in near excellent condition, the sleeve has an excellent glossy laminate, front and rear. The spine is in very good++ condition and all the text on the spine is clear to read. When the gatefold sleeve is opened the two original top and bottom flipbacks can be seen. There are NO stains, pen writing, splits, tears, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in near MINT condition and is the original EMI period red and white advertising sleeve, circa 1970. An excellent fresh white sleeve. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE VINYL: is in MINT condition !, under normal daylight conditions I cannot see any marks at all to the playing surfaces. The vinyl is made from the period thick, heavy vinyl. It has remained very dark and glossy, just like new.

The Matrix are: YEX 142 -1 and  YEX 143- 1,

The Mother/Stampers are:  ‘1  6    M  G’  and  ‘1 6 8    P  T’,

THE AUDIO: is excellent, a near perfect audio, the audio plays bold and clear. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: are in near MINT condition and suggest a one play only !. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

TO GRADE THE CONDITION OF THE RECORD I AM USING THE OFFICIAL GRADING SYSTEM FROM THE ‘RECORD COLLECTOR’ MAGAZINE.

PACKING  -  ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION.BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
