BEATLES UK – Revolver LP, rare ‘Doctor’, Roman font label, original mono.

1966 PMC 7009 – original 1966 black and yellow Parlophone labels.

An early UK mono copy of this album in original condition, featuring:

1. not to be confused with the ‘Sans Serif’ font labels, these ‘Roman’ font record labels nearly always come with the spelling of ‘Dr’, for the track, ‘Doctor Robert’ !. The label on side two has this rare spelling of ‘Doctor’ Robert. This mono label variant is very hard to find,

2. as stated above the record label on side two has the spelling of ‘Doctor’ Robert, but on the rear of the sleeve this track has the spelling of ‘ Dr Robert’ !.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in near excellent condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated. This laminate is excellent and glossy, and has remained, very clean. The two opening edges have remained sharp for their age. The rear has remained clean for its age. The rear features the original tri-flipback design. The spine is in excellent condition and has remained a good clean white in colour for its age and all the text is clear to read on the spine. There are NO tears, splits, stains, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition and is the original period EMI ‘Patents applied for’ white sleeve. A clean and well preserved sleeve for its age. There are NO tears, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue. There is a slight split to one of the side edges and some creasing to the bottom edge and some age related marks here and there.

THE RECORD: is in good++ condition. It is made of the 1960s period ‘thick, heavy’ vinyl. The record  has remained dark and glossy.

The matrix are:  XEX 605 - 2  and  XEX 606 – 2,

The mother / stampers are:   ‘6  R P G’  and  ‘7  R A O’,

THE AUDIO: is very good, it plays with relatively quiet grooves, but I did hear some light ‘ticks’ and some ‘pops’ here and there. It plays with a loud clear, period mono sound. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: are in near excellent condition. The letters ‘K T’ are embossed around the spindle hole on side two. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

TO GRADE THE CONDITION OF THE RECORD I AM USING THE OFFICIAL GRADING SYSTEM FROM THE ‘RECORD COLLECTOR’ MAGAZINE.

THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
