PMC 7027, original UK 1967 black and yellow Parlophone record labels.

A UK album in original condition, featuring:

1. a hard to find copy featuring a mis pressed record label on side two, as the track, ‘A day in the life’ has NOT been printed on the record label !. It is hard to see how this could have happened at the EMI printing factory, one theory is, this track was banned by the BBC in 1967 in England. This theory seems unlikely as reference to this track remained printed on the sleeve. Only a very small number of these mis pressed record labels were ever printed, as EMI were quick to spot this error,

2. on side one of the record label, there is an ‘additional dot’ printed within the text, ‘Sold in U.K.’ etc, as it reads, ‘Sold in .U.K.’ etc,

3. comes with its original period EMI, plain white, ‘Patents applied for’, inner sleeve.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent condition, the sleeve is fully laminated. The laminate has an excellent glossy finish. The spine is in excellent condition, it has remained very clean and white and all the text on the spine is clear to read. The four opening edges have remained clean. When the ‘gatefold’ sleeve is opened the two original top ‘flip backs’, ie fold over edges can be seen. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INSERT: the original dark green card insert is in near MINT condition, the rear of the insert is super clean. There are NO tears, pen writing, folds, creases on the insert.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent+ condition and is the original period, plain white EMI inner sleeve with ‘square’ corners and the text, ‘Patent applied for’. The two opening edges have remained very clean. An excellent very clean, white well preserved inner sleeve. The inner sleeve is made of the period, quality heavy grade paper with a textured surface on the inside. Theres NO pen writing, tears, splits, stains, stickers or sticker residue on the inner sleeve.

THE RECORD: each side of the record is in very good++ condition. The record is made from the period 1960s, thick, heavy vinyl. The record has remained dark and glossy.

The matrix are: XEX 637 – 1 and XEX 638 - 1,

The mother / stampers are: ‘38 MMH’ and ‘19 MMM’,

THE AUDIO: side one plays near excellent with just some light ‘crackle’ heard here and there. Side two also plays near excellent with just some light ‘ticks’ heard here and there. The long ‘fade out’ to the track, ‘A day in the life’, plays with excellent quiet grooves. The record lays flat on the turntable and plays with a full, loud period mono sound.

THE RECORD LABELS: side one is in excellent+ condition, side two is in near excellent condition. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.
