BEATLES UK – WHITE ALBUM, original first press LOW numbered ‘No. 0001941’, Mono LP.

1968 PMC 7067/7068 -  APPLE RECORD LABELS.

A UK first pressing top loading Mono copy with a unique very LOW serial number of  ‘No. 0001941’ and featuring:

As this is such a VERY early copy the text  ‘An EMI Recording’,  is NOT present on any of the labels. 

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE:  is in very good condition, (except for the 60mm tear to the front) !.   The double album gatefold sleeve is fully laminated.  On the front it has an embossed Beatles logo and a unique VERY LOW individual SERIAL Number of No. 0001941, this number appears clear and bold. To the rear there is NO small ‘Stereo’ text proving this to be a genuine MONO sleeve.  The spine is in very good condition and all the text can be read. The sleeve features two visible flipbacks when the sleeve is opened, these flipbacks are all excellent and well stuck down.  When the sleeve is opened it is glossy, clean and tidy.  The rear of the  sleeve is also clean and glossy. There are NO splits, tears (other), pen writing, stickers or sticker residue. The 60mm tear  appears on the  front middle top part of the sleeve only,  the other three layers of the sleeve are untorn.

THE INNER SLEEVES: are the original ‘Apple’ black inner sleeves and have not been replaced. One sleeve is in near excellent condition,  unusually there are NO tears around the ‘Die cut hole’ and NO splits.  There is a 15mm tear to the rear top right side only.  The other sleeve is in very good condition, and again there are NO splits.  There are some small tears around the Die cut hole. 

THE POSTER: the original poster is in good condition, it is all complete,  theres NO pen writing, sellotape / residue, pin holes, blue tack residue, stickers or sticker residue.  On the rear of the poster there is a stain which looks like  a  ‘tea’  stain !,  and there is wear to the two horizontal folds, but the poster is still held together.

THE PHOTOS: the original four photos are in excellent condition. The rear for the photos have remained a good clean white in colour. The photos are made from the original thick card. Theres NO pen writing, sellotape / residue, pin holes, blue tack residue, stains, tears,  stickers or sticker residue. 

THE VINYL: sides one and four are in near very good condition, sides  two and three are in very good condition.  The records are made of the original ‘thick and heavy’ vinyl.

The matrix nos. are:   XEX   709 – 1,  XEX  710 - 1, XEX  711 - 1 and  XEX 712 - 1. 

The Mother/Stampers are:   ‘ 5 HL   ’     ‘  3  H H  ’,   ‘ 7  G D L  ’  and   ‘ 2   H R ’.  

THE AUDIO:  side one plays with a light ‘tick’ through the track ‘Dear Prudence’ and through the track ‘Glass Onion’.  There is also a light ‘tick’ to be heard  for the first minute of play on the track ‘Ob la di,  Ob la da’.   Sides two, three and four play with some crackle and some ‘ticks’ here and there.  Each record lays flat on the turntable and plays well with NO sticking or jumps from  the needle.

THE LABELS:  are in  very good condition.  As this is a very first press two of the labels feature the original DARK green Apple colours.  All the labels show  the text  ‘Sold in the UK’ etc,  the George and Ringo songs are listed as ‘Apple Publishing’.  As already mentioned NONE of the labels have the text ‘An EMI Recording’.  The labels are free from any pen writing,  stickers or sticker residue.

TO GRADE THE CONDITION OF THE RECORD I AM USING THE OFFICIAL GRADING SYSTEM FROM THE RECORD COLLECTOR MAGAZINE.
