BEATLES UK, With the Beatles, unusual PYE record, original 1963 UK LP.

PMC 1206, original UK 1963 mono black and yellow Parlophone record labels.

By late 1963 EMI knew that they would not be able to meet the high demand for the next Beatles LP so EMI asked the record company of ‘PYE’ to help out in pressing copies. Only a small number of these ‘PYE records’ were ever manufactured, now making them very hard to find.

A hard to find original UK ‘PYE’ record in original condition, featuring:

1. the records ‘mother/stampers’ are unique to these ‘PYE’ records and differ from regular EMI copies. The ‘mother/stampers’ are, side one: ‘312’/ '?’, unusually theres NO ‘stamper’ engraved onto the ‘run off’ groove on side one. Side two, the 'mother/stampers' are: ‘P 211 / A’,

2. another unique feature of these ‘PYE’ records is the very noticeable ‘tapered’, ‘sharper’ outer edge of the record,

3. another unique feature of these ‘PYE’ records is the slightly ‘raised’ record labels each side, ie this ‘raised’ area at the edge of the record label can be ‘felt’ with the finger tip,

4. there are NO ‘tax codes’ embossed onto the record labels,

5. on the rear of the sleeve the spelling of, ‘gotta’ is printed, but on the record label this track title is printed as, ‘got a’, for the track title, ‘You really got a hold on me’,

6. comes with its original ‘Use Emitex’ inner sleeve.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated. The spine is in very good++ condition and all of the text on the spine is clear to read. The rear of the sleeve features the original 1960s period, ‘tri flip back’ design, ie ‘fold over’ edges. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in very good+ condition and is the original ‘Use Emitex’ inner sleeve. Theres NO pen writing, tears, stickers or sticker residue to the inner sleeve. There is a split to the two side edges and a split to the bottom edge.

THE RECORD: side one is in near excellent condition and side two is in near very good condition. The record is made from the original 1960s, quality thick, heavy vinyl.

The records matrix is: XEX 447 – 7N and XEX 448 – 7N,

The ‘mother / stampers’ are: side one: ‘312 / ?, very unusual as theres NO ‘stamper’ engraved onto side one. Side two is: ‘P 211 / A’,

THE AUDIO: each side of the record plays excellent. The record lays flat on the turntable and plays with a full, loud powerful period mono sound.

THE RECORD LABELS: each of the record labels are in excellent+ condition. There are NO ‘tax codes’ embossed around the spindle holes. Each of the record labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

TO GRADE THE CONDITION OF THE RECORD I AM USING THE OFFICIAL GRADING SYSTEM FROM THE ‘RECORD COLLECTOR’ MAGAZINE.
