BEATLES UK – a hard to find 2nd press White Album with a numbered sleeve.

1968 PCS 7067/7068 -  Apple Record Labels.

A hard to find UK second pressing, side loading Stereo copy with a unique serial number of  ‘ No. 0109621 ’ and featuring:

1. these UK second pressings appeared soon after the first pressings, circa the middle of 1969. The seven digit number that appeared on the front of the sleeve was retained but the sleeves changed to a side opening sleeve,

2. on the record label on side one, the label has been position on the record out of alignment, see photo, as it does not line up correctly with the spindle hole on the record !, this does not affect the audio,

3. also on the record label on side one, the text ‘An EMI recording’ has been mispressed and printed over to the right, away from its margin !, see photo.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent condition, the double album gatefold sleeve has a full glossy laminate. On the front it has the embossed Beatles logo and a unique individual SERIAL Number of  ‘No. 0109621’. The spine is in very good++ condition and all the text can be read. When the sleeve is opened it is very glossy, clean and tidy. The rear of the sleeve is very clean. There are NO splits, tears, stains, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

THE INNER SLEEVES: are the two original period EMI sleeves with the text, ‘Patent No. 1,125,555. One sleeve is in excellent condition, very clean and white in colour, there are NO splits, tears, stains, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue. The other sleeve is in excellent condition, very clean and white in colour, with NO tears, stains, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue, there is  a 20mm side edge split to one of the top side edges.

THE POSTER: the original poster is in near very good condition. Theres NO pen writing, sellotape / residue, pin holes, blue tack residue, stickers or sticker residue. The poster has some light age marks and some wear to some of the folds.

THE PHOTOS:  the four photos are missing.

THE VINYL: side one is in near MINT condition when seen under normal daylight conditions, side two is in excellent++ condition, side three is in excellent+ condition and side four is in near MINT condition when seen under normal daylight conditions. The records have remained very dark and glossy. The records are made of the original ‘thick and heavy’ vinyl.

The matrix nos. are:   YEX   709 – 1,  YEX  710 - 1, YEX  711 - 1 and  YEX 712 - 2. 

The Mother/Stampers are:   ‘ 5   O O G ’,    ‘ 6  G P T ’,  ‘ 5 G L H ’ and   ‘ 3  G P O ’.  

THE AUDIO: side one plays excellent, near perfect, side two plays  excellent, but I did hear some light ‘ticks’ one minute into track seven that lasted for about one minute, side three plays excellent, but I did hear some light ‘ticks’ half way through track two that lasted for about one minute. Side four plays excellent. Each record lays flat on the turntable and plays well with NO skips or jumps from the needle.

THE LABELS: side one is in excellent++ condition and features two errors, see the above text, side two is in near MINT condition, side three and four are in excellent+ condition. As the labels are still very early, labels one and three are printed in the original DARK green Apple colours. The George and Ringo songs are listed as ‘Apple Publishing’. All four labels have the text ‘An EMI Recording’. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

PACKING  -  ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION.BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
