BEATLES UK – original first press White Album in Stereo with a numbered sleeve.

1968 PCS 7067/7068 -  APPLE RECORD LABELS.

A UK first pressing top loading Stereo copy with a unique serial number of  ‘ No. 0458863 ’ and featuring:

1. unusually there are the letters ‘ K J T ’ embossed around the spindle hole on label four.  Letters that were embossed around the spindle holes on the labels on Beatle records were discontinued in January 1969 very soon after the album was released. It is now thought that the letter ‘J’ was an amendment made to some labels / records just before these embossed letters were removed all together from the labels.  

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in near very good condition, the double album gatefold sleeve has a full glossy laminate. On the front it has an embossed Beatles logo and a unique individual SERIAL Number of No. 0458863, this number appears VERY clear and bold. To the rear there is a small ‘Stereo’ text printed proving this to be a genuine STEREO sleeve. The spine is clean and in very good++ condition and all the text can be read. The sleeve features two visible flipbacks when the sleeve is opened, these flipbacks are all excellent and well stuck down. When the sleeve is opened it is very glossy, clean and tidy.  The rear of the sleeve has some marks similar to those on the front. There are NO splits, tears, stains, stickers or sticker residue. On the front of the sleeve there are some indentations of some pen writing, the pen ink has worn off over the years.  

THE INNER SLEEVES: are the two original APPLE black inner sleeves and have NOT been replaced.  The first sleeve is in near excellent condition, it has splits to each of the side edges and some small tears to the opening edges. The other sleeve is in near very good condition, it has some splits to the three edges and two tears at the ‘Die cut hole’ and some small tears  and signs of ‘fraying’ at the top opening edges.

NOTE:  the original four photos and poster are NOT present.

THE VINYL:  side one is in very good condition, side two is in very good+ condition, side three and four are in very good++ condition. The records have remained dark and glossy. The records are made of the original ‘thick and heavy’ vinyl.

The matrix nos. are:   YEX   709 – 1,  YEX  710 - 1, YEX  711 - 1 and  YEX 712 - 1. 

The Mother/Stampers are:   ‘ 4   O H ’,    ‘ 1  H ’,  ‘ 4   G G P  ’ and   ‘ 6   P T ’.  

THE AUDIO:  is very good and play with some crackle and some ‘tick’. Each record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS:  side one, three and four are in excellent condition, side two is in excellent+ condition. As mentioned, usually there are the letters ‘ K J T ’ embossed around the spindle hole on label four.  As this is a very first pressing two of the labels feature the original DARK green Apple colours. All the labels show the text ‘Sold in the UK’ etc, the George and Ringo songs are listed as ‘Apple Publishing’. All four labels have the text ‘An EMI Recording’. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
