BOTH DISCS: heavy thick vinyl  graded ex condition  [Record Collector gradings used throughout] - clean - no scratches or scuffs, labels clean - great discs

The discs bear the following matrices and stampers : 

YEX 712-1  (stamper 3)
YEX 711-1  (stamper backwards 7 ?)
YEX 710-1 (stamper 6 or 9)
YEX 709-1   (stamper 9)

COVER: is  graded vg+  apart from not serious crease bottom left hand corner - has word "BEATLES" embossed top left front cover - black printed no. 0563301 on front cover bottom right - has the word "Stereo" in black print at top right corner of back cover

Laminate intact all over except on spine for about an inch at bottom due to wear / aging - slight yellowing throughout due to aging - inside cover clean, no marks - has the usual "Printed and Made in Great Britain by Garrod and Lofthouse International Ltd" on inside cover under track listing - on discs the Harrison / Starkey tunes are credited to "Apple Publishing".

"EMI in Singapore did not provide any "locally" pressed Beatles until circa 1968/1968. I have this on the statement of an original EMI SEA employee from that time period. Until then they imported Beatles records from the UK, from Australia, and from New Zealand. The Beatles variations after that are indeed confusing. THere are for a fact at least 4 (maybe 5) different WHITE albums from SEA. The second or third round - they deleted HAPPINESS IS A WARM GUN because Malaysia was in armed insurrection against the British colonialists! At some time SEA switched to the side-loading covers and then to locally made covers. Then they switched to the SLPEA (Stereo LP East Asia) catalogue prefix.

Too bad there are few folks left who know for sure what happened when."

Pls note: There were 3 separate pressings of the numbered UK stereo White Album: 

1] 1968: original top-loader with 7-digit serial number (same as original mono). Late 1969: first reissue, side-opening with 7-digit serial number.

2] 1970/71: second reissue, side-opening with 6-digit serial number.

3]  From c. 1972 onwards, the albums were pressed without serial numbers.

Q: Hello, DUDE ... you need to keep the black inner protective sleeves with this issue. IMHO ... this is the very first of the first WHITE ALBUMs produced for the Southeast Asia (SEA EMI) market, The cover is legit Garrod & Lofthouse.... The vinyl is harder to decipher. No one really knows for sure. Most of the folks from that time period have passed on. My opinion is maybe a contract pressing and the discs were sent to Singapore headquarters for distribution to Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong ... or the Stampers and the artwork for the labels were sent to Singapore for local production. Does this come with poster and photos? hi - the notes that were listed with the disc said "I think that EMI exported the sleeves, inners and any thing else that came with the album together with the 'mother ' plates ( with the UK matrices) to allow pressing in very small quantities . This would tie in with the matrix numbers being UK but the stamper numbers not corresponding to normal EMI stampers. Q: Hi, Is this a composite? The labels are the Parlophone one EMI box logo dating from somewhere in 1969. The cover and inners look like the 1968 issue? Strange... 23-Mar-13 A: hi - I have added black inners only - maybe I shouldn't have and `1 will change them back to what they were - EMI 16-box on white paper, known at the 1968 time - here is the original listing as bought in January but selling now as I need the cash - "Where to begin with this one...!! A few things have been written on the internet ( including ebay descriptions) which have been a little fanciful, and so I will attempt to give some background about this White album ( and its "sister" Please please me album which I also have up for auction). But first of all the description. This album is in a UK made top opening numbered sleeve. The white (or cream) sleeve has the embossed "The Beatles" (around which the laminate is intact) and bears the number 0563301. In fact the laminate is intact over the whole sleeve, except the spine where it has split slightly due to wear and tear. The rear has the small "stereo" top right. Inside the flipbacks and interior are in excellent condition, and it bears the usual 'Printed and made in Great Britain by Garrod and Lofthouse International Ltd" It is in excellent condition , and no different from any other UK stereo white album sleeves of the time (69/70) The two inner sleeves are EMI Record sleeves advertising 16 albums on each side in pale magenta colour and are identical, both state " made and printed in Great Britain " . They can be dated to late 1969, early 1970. The record labels (see photo) have one box EMI on them, have a "gramophone.." rim text and bear the UK catalogue numbers PCS 7067 and 7068. There is no country of manufacture stated on the labels. Of note is that the Harrison and Starkey tunes are credited to Apple publishing. The vinyl bear the following matrices and stampers : YEX 712-1 (stamper 3) YEX 711-1 (stamper backwards 7 ?) YEX 710-1 (stamper 6 or 9) YEX 709-1 (stamper 9)YEX 709-1 (stamper 9) The vinyl is heavy weight (about 190 grms each) and has light markings
