Attention all Beatles fans! Take the opportunity to bid on this wonderful piece of Rock history! Here we have the famous Yesterday and Today album by the Beatles...

A short story on the album cover
Back when Yesterday and Today was originally released in the mid-60's, the album was comprised of songs from the American versions of three other Beatles LPs, plus both sides of an earlier 45. Instead of the normal cover of your typical four happy Beatles, they were dressed in butchers' smocks with slabs of raw red meat, glass eyeballs, false teeth and nude decapitated dolls strewn around them. When DJs and others received the first copies of the record, they complained about the gruesome sleeve. Capitol had to recall the record. All the promotional material for the album was destroyed and the album was reissued five days later with it's substitute cover as you see it today. Many of 750,000 or so original "butcher" cover sleeves went back into record stores with the new cover pasted over the old one. Some of the covers were steamed and peeled off to reveal the controversial original cover and some were left intact, as this one we offer here.

There are no doubts that this is one of those records. In the original Butcher image, Ringo is wearing a white butcher coat with a black undershirt, creating a 'V' effect that is clearly seen through the replacment cover near the open lid of the trunk. This album is number T2553, and the record is marked T-X-1-2553 on side one and T-X-2-T553 on side two. The record is the Monophonic version.
