MEGA RARE!! Beatles “PLEASE, PLEASE ME” LP. Original 1963 UK. ***BLACK & GOLD*** MONO

Very earliest FIRST PRESSING!!

“Please, Please Me”.

Up for auction is this Rare and very much sought after Beatles First offering FIRST album on the RARE “Black and Gold” Parlophone label. This is the MONO version and is a very First pressing edition which incorrectly credits Dick James to certain tracks. You will know the story.

This album has of course been played and shows some light indiscretions to the vinyl. BUT, I must stress that these anomalies are not gross by any means and the sounds are quite superb.

COVER: Near mint. Original E.J.Day sleeve, except for some light biro numbering on the rear cover which a previous owner deemed necessary to write on the second side track listing in order to maintain sequential numbering. MAD!! But there you go.

VINYL: Just some scuffs and a number of stylus marks are present which do not affect the superb quality of play. Still retains its glossy sheen and is perfectly flat with no warps, skips or jumps. None of the stylus marks are feelable. Graded: a very strong VG+.

LABELS: Excellent. No writing. MX Tax code.

MATRIX NUMBERS: SIDE ONE: XEX 421 – 1N

SIDE TWO: XEX 422 - 1N

STAMPERS: SIDE ONE : 1 M

SIDE TWO : 1 O - making this one of the very earliest off the press.

INNER SLEEVE: Near mint. Original “Emitex” type.

AUDIO: Superb thumping MONO sounds, despite the obvious surface indiscretions. Definitely no skips or jumps. Displays an odd crackle in between some tracks, but nothing too serious or distracting. Sounds are just amazing.

To sum up. This album is of course not mint, but is still very much deserving of a good home and should not be ignored, if only for its rarity value alone. But forget all that nonsense, the sounds are superb and truly classic. One to own.
