CASTIL BATTLE / LOVE STORY ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by PLATANO SPLIT aka BEN AND HIS PLATANO GROUP. Original French pressing on BARCLAY label (CPF 61 458), from 1971. Stunning, wah wah funk with afro latin percussion and jazzy muted horns on CASTIL BATTLE (for many, the very best theme from their Paris Soul Lp). Super-infectious basslines / insanely funky guitar vamps by J.Menez / organ breaks by G. Sanitarva / congas and timbale riding the psychedelic groove. Great for DJs. Comped by DJ BNX for his influential Sexopolis selection. The group is rumoured to be the session players from the Parisian cabaret nightclub "Le Lido" (just before the band leader was committed to a psychiatric hospital). Killer music, easily one of the ultimate funk tunes from France :) Booming production sound. Striking artwork sleeve too. Rare 45!!!   

Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG 

Vinyl is in strong VG++ condition (closer to M-) with some hairlines. Booming production sound. Some light surface noises. The card picture sleeve is in strong VG++ condition (closer to M-) with some ring wear / dirt marks and one thin, mini abrasion mark to middle front sleeve. Light wear elsewhere. Rare 45!!!
