PARIS SOUL / CABARET ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by BEN & THE PLATANO GROUP arrangements by EVARISTO NATA aka ROGER LECUSSANT. Original French biem pressing on BARCLAY label (61564), from 1971. Outstanding, double-sider by the legendary group, rumoured to have been session players from the Parisian cabaret nightclub "Le Lido" on the Champs-Élysées. Killer music, easily one of the best funk related 45s from France. PARIS SOUL was the title track and for some, the hottest theme from their infamous Lp. Psychedelic latin and rocked-out lounge featuring the insanely funky guitar vamps of J. Menez / organ breaks by G. Sanitarva aka George Arvanitas / super-infectious basslines / tres cool horn section / congas and timbale that simply explode midway. Great for DJs with booming production sound. The CABARET side is also fabulous. Lots more groovy rhythms with muted horns (we get a Swinging London vibe :) / wah wah fuzz and hammond that get deeper and funkier as the theme progresses. Striking sleeve design and mini replica of the Lp artwork. Rare 45!!!

Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG 

Vinyl is closer to shiny M- condition overall, regardless of a few hairlines / faint scuffs from sleeve removal. Booming production sound. Some light surface noises. Archive sticker to one side of label. The soft card picture sleeve is in strong VG++ condition (closer to M-) with a section of light wear / nicks to left part of the top edge and top part of the open side (back sleeve only). Minimal light wear elsewhere. Faint "Discotheque" ink stamps to back sleeve. Archive sticker and archive number in pen to back sleeve. Rare 45!!!
