BENNIE GREEN – HORNFUL OF SOUL – BETHLEHEM 6054 – VG+/EX – DG – MONO
Recorded in New York in December of 1960, this Bethlehem session features Bennie Green on trombone, Jimmy Forrest on tenor, Lem Davis on alto, Skip Hall on organ, Mal Waldron on piano, Wyatt Ruther on bass, Art Taylor on drums and Tommy Lopez on conga. SIDE 1: SUMMERTIME; GROOVE ONE; LOWLAND-ISM and DIBBLIN’ AND DABBLIN’. SIDE 2: FOOLISH HEART; INDIANA; CATWALK and DEE DEE. This is a deep groove pressing and a MONO recording.
I have graded the vinyl as VG+ and the record jacket is EX for the following reasons. There are a few marks on Side 1, Cut 2 and on Side 2 Cut 2, which do not interfere with play. Other than that, the vinyl is clean. There are a few marks around the spindle hole but no sign of wear in the spindle hole. The vinyl still retains its original luster. The record jacket has two small taped seams on the top right and the bottom right seams. Other than that, there is little sign of wear on the record jacket.
