Not only one of the greatest and most important blues albums in history, but THE SINGLE GREATEST BLUES VOCALS ALBUM IN HISTORY, PERIOD. NO IFS, ANDS OR BUTS.

 

Note: Many Atlantic original master tapes were destroyed in a  fire in the late 1970s. This is one of the titles irretrievably lost in that fire. If you wish to hear how magnificent this album really is, go for the original or very early pressings, such as this one – forget about the compact disc, which is made from the later (digitally enhanced production or back-up) tape and which sounds godawful, EVEN with all kinds of digital “baking”.

 

       Stereo  pressing of this title is much rarer, and by far more preferable to its mono  counterpart. The mix is more graphic, the sound resolution more precise, and the channel separation (which does not exist on mono version) adds a whole new dimension to the music. Also, the stereo mixes are (by definition) somewhat different than on the mono version. We estimate that mono copies of this album outnumber stereo copies  by a ratio of at least 3:1.

 

      Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

 

 

 ALBUM is SEALED (one small shrink tear in the lower right on front side, mild storage wear - back cover near opening has a few yellowish dust/glue speckles)  *** NO BAR CODE ***
