Another from my personal collection of over 50,000 albums that I have aquired over a period of more than 45 years! An awesome original 1st UK Pressing Black Sabbath Born Again.

This album package is near mint in my opinion. Barely ever played at all, perhapes once or twice only.

This vinyl is the original and free from any warping. On inspection this vinyl looks absolutely stunning near mint with no scratches or marks that would cause and loud constant clicks or pops. Any marks that could possibly be seen would be sleeve removal surface only. A beautiful sounding copy rich and very vibrant only found like this on the earliest pressings!!  This is complete with the original UK  Printed un-laminated  cover in very straight condition also. Normally this album is found in a terrible state looking very worn, but this cover is strong and straight and on inspection looks excellent in my opinion. Very, very hard to ever find like this after over 40 years. A beautiful looking Archive audio copy.

Born Again is the eleventh studio album by English heavy metal band Black Sabbath.


Released in August 1983, it is the only album the group recorded with lead vocalist Ian Gillan, best known for his work with Deep Purple.


It was also the last Black Sabbath album for nine years to feature original bassist Geezer Butler and the last to feature original drummer Bill Ward, though Ward did record a studio track with the band fifteen years later on their 1998 live album Reunion.


The album has received mixed reviews from critics, but was a commercial success upon its 1983 release, reaching No. 4 in the UK charts.

The album also hit the top 40 in the United States.



In July 2021, guitarist and founding member Tony Iommi confirmed that the long lost original master tapes of the album had been finally located, and that he was considering remixing the album for a future re-release





Following the tour supporting Born Again, this version of Black Sabbath fell apart, with Gillan and Ward departing.
 

The tour was also a breaking point for Butler, who admits in the Black Sabbath: 1978–1992 documentary, "I just got totally disillusioned with the whole thing and I left some time in 1984 after the Born Again tour.
Butler says the looming Deep Purple reunion played a large role in Gillan's decision to leave. Disagreements with management also contributed to the band's dissolution. Bevan would briefly return to the Sabbath fold in 1986-87 to record cymbal overdubs for the album The Eternal Idol.

The labels
The original Custom Vertigo labels are in awesome condition!  Amaizingly I find it hard to see any spider marks, even when angled to the light, and of coarse (no) spindle ware This has only ever been played once or twice by me only to play grade for this listing. So rare for an album that is over 39 years old! Impossible to find like this! very very collectable!

The vinyl
The vinyl is absolutely superbe! On initial visual inspection this looks superb Near Mint in my opinion! and still retains its sheen from new and is free of any warping and lays flat on he turntable. (please note this vinyl has only ever been played by me personally once pr twice! in the last 39 years this has been stored in a case with the vinyl separated from the sleeve and cover. This is how I have always stored my records. There are no audio sounding marks or blemishes that I can see at all!  Any marks that could possibly be seen would be sleeve removal surfacev marks only!

The Audio Quality
I have played this through track for track prior to listing at very very loud volume on a top system! The moment the needle hits the playing surface it is obvious this vinyl has never been played at all in my opinion! The audio quality is as you would expect from a vinyl that has barely been played, superbe, TOP, TOP, TOP! crystal clear and extremely vibrant through out in fact this plays as a new vinyl would sound in my opinion! Points to note! It is easy to be critical about these early eighties pressings. Please note that this vinyl has been laying dormant in a case since I purchased it and will need a constant clean before each play to reduce any static or crackle. This played through as perfect as it gets unbelievable audio separation, that I haven’t heard like this before and stunning bassey feel throughout almost cd. quality on my systems! This vinyl has been stored separately from the cover in a poly sleeve for all of its storage life! This is the way I always have stores my records! The audio on this pressing in my opinion is almost as good as it gets for a very early and the 1st pressing! Even in between tracks this is almost quiet with just light static due to needing a constant cleaning in my opinion ! This is the I would class myself as highly critical and this is a truly exceptional sounding vinyl and 11th EVER ALBUM RELEASED by this awesome band ”black sabbath” and so hard to find early 1st pressings like this! Please check my completed listings of records that i have sold of this calaber and you will see that i normally get it right! I would grade the audio at least excellent plus to near as mint through out!

Please note! That i always make this disclaimer! That although I never heard any loud clicks or pops during the play of this record please allow for the odd static/ tick , certainly not consistent throughout the audio, but this is a genuine 40 year old vinyl that would have been played on a 40 year old system!

Points to note! This has been stored in a case laying dormant for at least 40 years! A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves from laying dormant causes static crackle\ticks! A constant clean before each play is recommended ! This would reduce any static and enhance the audio quality! There was isolated light static tick heard which will be reduced if cleaned each time before play. The vinyl has only been ever played one time by me!

The Record Sleeve
This is the original 1st issue flimsy thin paper lyric record sleeve no splits or tears very light creasing only and has always ben stored separately from the vinyl for protection!

The Cover
This is the original and earliest 1st UK press un- laminated cover! These flimsy type 1st issue covers are very difficult to keep in good condition! There are no splits or tears! Rare to find without ring wear No nasty creases on the front or rear any that there are, are feint an  you have to really look for angled to the light to notice in my opinion.(Note: There is some slight indent marks noted on the front of the cover but not really noticed unless looked for in my opinion) very slight edge wear and light ringwear only noted.  Rare to find in this awesome condition super straight in general appearance (see photos) . All text is fully legible at the spine. Truly remarkable for 39 years old! I would grade the cover at least excellent  in my opinion!
