VERTIGO
ORIGINAL UK 1ST PRESS
VINYL IS IN SUPERB CONDITION...STUNNING AUDIO, BARELY ANY CRACKLE AT ALL!!!
WITH ORIGINAL UNLAMINATED GATEFOLD SLEEVE
WITH ORIGINAL 'SWIRL' INNER SLEEVE
ONE OF THE CLEANEST 'PLANET CARAVAN' I'VE EVER HEARD!
PLAYGRADED: not simply glanced at with a superficial visual grading, fully played and graded throughout (listened to on headphones - the most revealing playgrade method, with no exterior audio distractions)
OUTER SLEEVE:
Excellent original unlaminated gatefold sleeve
Excellent condition throughout with just a few touch ups visible to top of spine, slight 'foxing' to cover with some of the typical 'green' showthrough. The 'stripes' down the right hand edge and bottom edge are the foldovers of the front cover which is then covered by the glued on inner gatefold, these lines pretty much always show through on these notoriously fragile sleeves. There is a small coloured in tear to the top left of the front sleeve, above the Vertigo logo (but quite hard to spot). Back cover is nice and clean with a small amount of ringwear visible.
Inner gatefold is beautifully clean with thankfully no graffiti at all. Superb!
TOP AND BOTTOM EDGES
Looks superb with no wear through to the white that is so common, a hint of a minor touch up here and there but looks great.
OPENING EDGES
Nice and crisp only the bare minimum of thumbing and light wear.
SPINE
Perfectly legible, very square and very nice! Has a minor touch up right at the top of the spine.
VINYL:
6 3 6 0 0 1 1 1 Y // 1 4 2 0
6 3 6 0 0 1 1 2 Y // 1 4 2 0
Looks awesome under normal daylight and virtually unmarked! Under direct halogen there are a few very faint hairlines (sleeve removal marks) that cause the VERY lightest of crackle on intros and in between songs - as you'd expect from any vinyl. There is a very faint hairline visible on side 1, that I believe causes a couple of very light pops in War Pigs but has no other effect on playback.
Audio is near faultless throughout, initial run ins on side 1 and side 2 are near silent (as silent as you can get for vinyl), in between tracks are almost silent too, the absolute barest hint of light crackle (from dust specks only I suspect). A couple of light pops in War Pigs. I seriously doubt you could find a significantly better copy of this very rare UK first press. I actually have a NEW copy of the 2009 reissue that plays with more background noise than this!
The quiet sections of 'Planet Caravan' and 'Hand Of Doom' intro are probably the cleanest I've ever heard of this classic LP.
There is a very, very slight edge warp (more of a minor ripple really) that DOES NOT AFFECT PLAYBACK AT ALL.
LABELS:
Nice and clean with thankfully NO graffiti. Just a couple of faint spindle traces! Barely played!
INNER SLEEVE:
Original poly-lined Vertigo Swirl inner sleeve. Looks superb but previous owner has written artist and title upon it in the top corner.
POSTAGE AND PACKING:
I recycle as much existing material as possible and reuse record mailers if they are of good enough quality. Edges and corners are reinforced with packing tape. Stiffeners are used to strengthen and support the record.
Vinyl is removed from the outer gatefold to prevent any 'knifing' to the outer sleeve.
I ship in the UK using Royal Mail 2nd Class as it's a little cheaper for buyers. A certificate of postage is obtained for every item. Signed for delivery is available on request at extra cost. Please ask.
Feedback is left for buyers once they have contacted me and left feedback stating they are happy with their purchase. Should there be any issues, please contact me first.
I ship worldwide. Item will be shipped in board-stiffened mailers for maximum protection.
