Released by Chess (52) label as a part of its Sermon Series, this is a Black Gospel spoken word album from the late 1950s. Titled "Without A Song," Rev. C.L. Franklin, Aretha Franklin's father who was considered one of the most charismatic preachers of his time, delivers a fiery sermon live before the congregation of the New Bethel Baptist Church, Detroit, MI. The heavy shiny record rates as VG+. The heavy, intact jacket has signs of age wear with back cover corner discoloration and some puckering from improper factory glueing.
