The Fireballs (who took their name from Jerry Lee Lewis' Great Balls Of Fire) recorded blazing-hot surf singles in the late '50s to early '60s; their highly-collectible 45s like Foot-Patter feature legendary guitarist George Tomsco. They were also the house band at Norman Petty's renowned studio in Clovis, New Mexico.

Norman Petty (1927-1984) was most famous as producer for Buddy Holly & The Crickets, but he created a number of other hits as well (his biggest success was #1 smash Sugar Shack by Jimmy Gilmer & The Fireballs, 1963's top-selling single).
