LOU DONALDSON: "SWING AND SOUL" LP - On BLUE NOTE Records, #1566. Extremely rare vintage jazz Lp! Original MONO pressing with the classic Blue & White labels and the 47 WEST 63rd NYC address on both labels. The label is DEEP GROOVE on both sides. "EAR" etched and RVG stamped in the trail-off on both sides. Thick vinyl, thick laminated cardboard cover. The personnel: Lou Donaldson/alto sax; Herman Foster/piano; 'Peck' Morrison/bass; Dave Bailey/drums; Ray Barretto/conga. The thick laminated cover is in VG++ shape & displays nicely. No seam splits, no cut-out marks, and the front cover graphics are particularly striking. Address on back cover is 47 West 63rd St., New York 23. The vinyl is in VG- condition, very glossy in spite of some visible wear & scratches. There is some surface noise upon playing. Not a high-grade copy of this artifact by any means, but amazingly hard to find in any condition. The songs are: Dorothy; I Won't Cry Any More; Herman's Mambo; Peck Time; There Will Never Be Another You; Groove Junction; Grits And Gravy.
