Condizioni : la copertina, laminata su entrambi i lati, mostra un certo numero di grinze in particolare lungo il bordo del lato sinistro frontale oltre a un pò d'ingiallimento lungo il bordo del lato destro sul retro; grande stato, EX / il vinile ha alcuni segni e sfregamenti che condizionano minimamente l'ascolto con qualche leggero clicchettio; grande stato, EX+

Condition : laminated cover on both sides shows a certain number of creases in particular along the  edge of left side on the front as well as a little yellowing along the edge of the right side on the back, EX / vinyl

GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie il controllo viene effettuato sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i dischi in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati, i 33 giri su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1 mentre gli EP e i singoli a 45 giri con un Thorens TD 166 BC fornito di una testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All records in auction have been fully heard. Lps on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge, EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : davvero una grande baraonda di musiche di ogni genere. Siamo già intorno alla fine degli anni sessanta e la musica psichedelica era diventata una delle colonne portanti della musica pop e rock soprattutto negli Stati Uniti. I due compositori Americani, Bob Crewe e Charles Fox, non rifuggono da questa suono ma viene mescolato ad ogni genere di musica: dal beat alla musica di facile ascolto, dal blues rock al pop, a lievi sapori funky e jazz e perfino alla musica classica. Tutto questo non è strutturato o pianificato ma, come dire, gettato in un calderone musicale pazzo ma molto divertente. Ottimi musicisti di studio sotto il nome The Bob Crewe Generation orchestra eseguono tutti i brani con grande capacità, dove grintosi strumenti a fiato si alternano o si fondono alle chitarre elettriche, alle percussioni e a l'intera sezione ritmica. Le canzoni "Barbarella" (a1), "Love, Love, Love Drags me Down" (a5) e "The Labyrinth" (b8) sono ben interpretate dal gruppo The Glitterhouse mentre "An angel is love" (b11) è cantata da Bob Crewe. Certo un eclettismo sonoro difficile anche da spiegare ma ricco di trovate intelligenti e non banali oltre ad essere un tipico documento di un'epoca ancora piena di vitalità ed inventiva. Da ascoltare!

Notes : really a great bedlam featuring all kinds of music. We are already near the end of the sixties and psychedelic music had become one of the mainstays of rock and pop music especially in the United States. The two American composers, Bob Crewe and Charles Fox,  do not shy away from this sound but it mixed up with every genre of music: from the beat sound to easy listening music, from blues rock to pop, to slight funky and jazzy flavors and even to classical music. All this is not coherently structured or planned but, as if to say, thrown into a cauldron of lunatic but very funny music. Excellent studio musicians under the name The Bob Crewe Generation Orchestra perform all the tracks with great skills, where punchy wind instruments alternate or combine with electric guitars, percussion and the whole rhythm section. The songs "Barbarella" (a1), "Love, Love, Love Drags Me Down" (a5) and "The Labyrinth" (b8) are well performed by The Glitterhouse while "An angel is love" (b11) is sung by Bob Crewe. Certainly an eclectic music as well difficult to explain, although full of clever and fresh ideas as well as being a typical document of an era still full of vitality and creativity. It is to listen to!
