Description
I’m the original owner and since I’m obsessive about record care and storage, this set is in exactly the same condition as when I bought it new in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Any minor flaws as described below are from the original manufacture. Played twice to grade accurately.
BOX: The textured “linen” paper covering is in mint condition with no abrasions, scratches or other issues front, back or sides. One corner was slightly bumped when I bought it (see photos). All corners in the top and the back are completely solid. The bottom tray has an ink inscription from the printer neatly placed on one of the interior edges that gives the product number: 4680861.
VINYL: All 5 records are in what I call factory mint condition. They are exactly as they left the manufacturer. All 10 sides have a black mirror like surface and under an intense halogen light I can barely make out a few ultra light, nearly invisible rubs from the original shipping in the paper inners. These are few and far between and are found on all LPs shipped in paper inners. Immediately after purchase, I placed the LPs in high quality polylined inners. I’m being very picky as most people would call all 5 LPs Mint without hesitation.
On my Linn Sondek LP12, they play mint as well. On disc 4 I noticed some faint clicks briefly in one song, but these turned out to be in the recording, not the vinyl.
LABELS: All 10 labels are in the same condition as the one shown and are without spindle marks. They are exactly as they were when purchased. Printed on the labels is “Made in Holland”.
BOOKLET: Mint with no creases or any other issues.
INNERS: All 5 inners are flat and uncreased. The third one has a short bottom split of 3/4“, while the second one has a similar bottom seam split of 1 ¼”.
Shipping in the U.S. will be in a 14x14 box, not a 12x12 LP mailer and will include full insurance.
International shipping will be by insured Registered Mail for $39. If your country does not accept Registered Mail or limits insurance, it will be shipped by a premium service fully insured and tracked for $59. If you think this is too expensive, then please don’t bid.
......................................
I began buying records in the mid 60’s and I've always been fanatical about record care and storage. The records I sell are from my personal collection, including backup copies. I've never been one to buy VG records or anything with an audible scratch, which eliminates the vast majority.
Over the decades, I've seen grading fads come and go, such as “visual” grading by people who don’t own a turntable, the current use of nonsense grades like NM+ and NM- as well as the dubious belief that there’s no such thing as a mint record.
I use standard US grading plus the UK grade of EX in order to eliminate the dreaded VG+++.
Records are first inspected under a halogen light (the only light that shows every flaw) and any blemishes are examined with a 10x power magnifier which allows the grooves to be fully inspected; then they’re play graded on a Linn Sondek LP12.
As a record buyer, I've had a lot of over graded “garage sale” LPs arrive covered with gritty dust and greasy fingerprints while the seller claims a “visual” grade based on fantasy. Be assured that my records will arrive dust and fingerprint free.
If I do miss an audible flaw, then kindly contact me and it will be rectified.
