One of Dylan's early radio perfomances. This is a 15 minute radio station copy broadcast of the "The World of Folk Music starring Oscar Brand", aired May 1963. These LPs were produced by the Social Security Administration for one broadcast.
The show begins with musical introduction sung by Brand while a voice-over announces it is a SSA presentation. Brand then sings a rendition of Garry Owen followed by his explanation that it was the marching song of the Seventh Cavalry and Gen. George Armstrong Custer.
Dylan is given a brief introduction and then sings Girl From the North Country. Next comes an explanation of certain benefits from case in the Social Security Administration files.
After an odd/funny explanation, Dylan sings Only a Hobo. The show concludes with another song from Brand.
On side two the broadcast features the New Christy Minstrels performing Julianne and Denver. From all indications, I'm pretty sure that's Barry McQuire (Eve of Destruction) is performing on Denver.
