FRENCH 45T original 197? biem- OKAPI - 45.563.
MEGA RARE band lead by afro-american arranger & saxophonist named Bobby Boyd, accompanied by Franck Abel (organ, vocals), Lafayette Hudson (composer, bass), noticed after Bobby left the band, they call us "Ice" & later "Afro Lafayette Rock Band", most known by Djs & producers for their cult Lp call "malik" (cf track "Darkest light" sampled by Public Enemy). The superb front cover was realized by D.Mazuru. , funk with soul & rock, playing guitar fuzz, pushing horns, organ & drums.On track called "Straight ahead" with pushing horns, bass, breaks drums, organ & explosif vocal by Diana Olverton very close of Marva Withney/ Lyn Collins works ! Focus too on track called "In a strange strange land" a deep soul + instrumental part with flying horns section with fuzzing organ solos. no reissue, No copy on the web don't miss it !!!...
