Here's the New York edition of JELLY ROLL MORTON AND HIS RED HOT PEPPERS, in one of the superior jazz accomplishments of 1928:
They perform two more of Jelly's remarkably delightful compositions: "BOOGABOO" and "KANSAS CITY STOMPS."
JELLY ROLL MORTON, (piano, composer, leader)/ WARD PINKETT (trumpet) / GEECHIE FIELDS (trombone) / OMER SIMEON (clarinet) / LEE BLAIR (banjo) / BILL BENFORD (tuba) / TOMMY BENFORD (drums).
This original 1928 "Scroll" Victor V-38010 is in E- condition. There is some strange schmutz on each side, which looks odd, but doesn't seem to affect the playing. Just tried it now: yes, the record is a clean E-!
