This a superb example of this extremely rare UK original first press LP issued in 1969, one of the very last LPs to be pressed in mono by the Decca company. There were literally only a few hundred  of  this LP pressed and of those very few were mono and as such this is now close to being a unique example. What makes even more outstanding and desirable is the absolutely pristin quality of the vinyl. The is no hint of use on the label, indicating that this record has had very few plays and this is born out by the near MINT condition of the playing surfaces.

The matrix numbers ARL-8981-1A and ARL 8982-1A and th stamers are 1,G and 1,G.

The vinyl has no marks at all visible even when viewed under bright angled light and grades close to MINT. when I played this trandfer it to digital format I detected two very soft pops across the whoel LP. So in terms of soound quality I would say as good as the day it was bought in 1969.

The labels are totally unmarked near MINT.

The red MONO inner sleeve is EX.

The front laminated sleeve is not quite as perfect as the LP but still grades near EX say VG++. It has slight edge and corner wear but retains a straight 100% readable spine. There are is some slight laminate creasing and a partial ring mark on the unlaminated rear.

Overall this is a superb copy and unlikely to turn up again soon in such condition. Where else have you seen a mono mix copy of the fabulously rare LP and where will you find either a stereo or mono copy with faultless audio capable of satisfying the most discerning colletor. Answer no where any time soon.

I aim to describe the visual appearance of all items accurately using the standards below which are based on the UK Record Collector Price Guide. The highest grade I use now is NEAR MINT ('UNPLAYED' if still sealed in shrink wrap or occasionally full MINT but only if the provenance of the item suggests this to be correct). Records graded EX+ or EX++ would probably be called 'near mint' or 'mint' by most sellers. Please READ THE ITEM DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY and study photographs to avoid disappointment later. I will refund only on items which do not conform to the description and standards set out here.

GRADING SYSTEM

NEAR MINT: The record appears to be in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and other inserts are perfect. For MINT grading see above

EXCELLENT: The item has been played and may have some light surface marks but there is very little, if any, lessening in sound quality. Cover and contents have slight wear.

VERY GOOD: The record has been played quite alot  but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Cover and contents show some wear.

GOOD:The record has been played many times and the sound quality has deteriorated noticeably. The cover and contents are often damaged.

I use EX++,EX+,VG++,VG+ as subsidiary gradings. Unless the record is extremely rare I do not sell items which are less than VG in condition.
