Description
BRIAN ENO 'TAKING TIGER MOUNTAIN (BY STRATEGY)' 1974 FIRST PRESS.
Pressed in the UK and released on Island Records ILPS 9309.
Matrix codes etc:
Side 1: ILPS 9309 A - 3U (Stamped) RAYS (etched)
Side 2: ILPS 9309 B - 4U (Stamped) RAYS (etched).
Has a 'locked groove' which plays continuously after the last track on side 1.
Play grades as EX/EX+.
Play graded on a Pro-Ject Essentials III Bluetooth deck fitted with an Ortofon OM10 cartridge, an Acrylic turntable mat & a Pro-ject 'Clamp-It' record clamp, sent through a Naim Mu-So QB2 Wireless speaker system.
Sounds great!
On both sides all musical and vocal passages play clearly & brightly.
There are no sticks, jumps or skips and no evidence of any groove wear at all. There are just a couple of isolated quiet clicks/tics between tracks 3 & 4 on side 1 and only the absolute minimum of very quiet surface noise in places.
When tilted under normal lighting side 1 has a thin, non-sounding paper/sleeve removal scuff mark in track 2 which runs from about 2 o'clock to about 5 o'clock, there is also a 1 cm. horizontal light non-sounding surface scratch in side 2, track 1 at about 11 o'clock.
When tilted under halogen lights there are just a few more short, light marks visible.
Gatefold sleeve grades as VG+.
Would be a rock solid EX, but has a record shop stamp in the middle of the front cover.
Plain white (not the original) inner sleeve grades as EX.
I USE RECORD COLLECTOR GRADINGS AND USE A +/- WHERE I FEEL THAT IT'S APPROPRIATE.

I dispatch records in brand new, bought in mailers designed for the process. Before placing in the mailer I take LPs out of the sleeve place both in a polysleeve and between two card stiffeners and if there is a picture sleeve I place the LP in a plain sleeve to prevent knifing of the picture sleeve. [all this costs £0.80/single LP].
I normally ship within 1/2 working days of receipt of payment.
All items are shipped using Royal Mail and I always obtain proof of posting for items.
You will receive a confirmation e-mail from me on the day that the item is shipped.
United Kingdom shipments should arrive in 2-5 business days from date of shipping.
For International buyers, shipping is by air mail and shipments should arrive in 5- 10 business days from date of shipping.
Delivery times are approximate, they are in business days after the item is shipped. Also please be aware, especially for International shipping, that circumstances beyond my control after shipping can cause delays.
