We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over +22,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. One of the most scarce Vertigo LPs ...the scarce BRITISH 1971 first print features an interchangeable panels front cover allowing different crazy designs as preferred; see images for options. The UK panels cover is difficult to find without the fragile panels being bent or destroyed ...here is a clean cover, all panels are intact and not bent or damaged. Another way to put it: Released in a gimmix fold-out cover with three flaps. Each can be folded out individually, enabling the owner to make 8 different cover variations.
Highly-rated musically, their second LP and arguably the best of three albums by PATTO in 1971 - an inventive mix of blues and hard rock with complex jazzy moves dominated by outstanding guitar runs by Ollie Halsall hailed as one of the greatest 70's guitarists who was also featured in "Timebox" in the late 60's, hitting his stride with PATTO 1970-1972
Patto's second 1971 album, "Hold Your Fire", presents a great collection of songs that explores somewhat more complex musical territory than their first album, "Patto".
There are still relatively straight-ahead tracks loaded with splatter guitar all over the place, and great songs like the title cut and "You, You Point Your Finger". But the album contains a lot more experimentation, with unusual time signature changes present in nearly all of the tunes. There's plenty of great rock, and the complex influences still presents themselves in many of the songs, particularly in Ollie's "Air-Raid Shelter."
In just a year, Ollie's guitar playing improved incredibly since the debut album, having perfected his legato hammer-on/pull-off technique. His fast, fluid, and inventive playing remains the star of this album. Nearly every track on "Hold Your Fire" includes extraordinary guitar playing that words cannot possibly do justice to, and he had only been playing guitar for four years! If you are into great guitar playing and you haven't heard this album, you are urged to rectify that situation as soon as possible.
Muff Winwood's production on "Hold Your Fire" is not as minimalist or in-your-face as it is on "Patto". More time was spent on overdubs. John's drums have a fuller sound. Ollie's keys are more present throughout the album. "Hold Your Fire" is a fine sounding album with impressive songs and musicianship of an extraordinary caliber. It is a shame that it has not been discovered by more rock music and guitar enthusiasts.
