- Vinyl Grade: EX to VG+ play grade *beautiful sheen on vinyl with only a few stray superficial spindle marks; vinyl sounds excellent in stereo and plays with some slight lo-grade noise at quieter opening portions on a couple of tunes, but nothing obtrusive; only "Indian Love Call" played with some consistent noise interference in middle of track, but still not overpowering; condition of labels are as seen in photos
- Cover Grade: VG+ *visually appealing jacket with most of wear seen on seams, mainly at top where separated and also at lower 1" of spine seam, which is worn through; there is also a paper peel on lower rh back corner, which is also slightly crunched

- Info: Buddy DeFranco is one of the great clarinetists of all time, being one of the few clarinetists to transfer the language of Charlie Parker onto his instrument. After working with the big bands of Gene Krupa (1941-1942) and Charlie Barnet (1943-1944), he was with Tommy Dorsey on and off during 1944-1948.DeFranco won a countless number of polls and appeared with the Metronome All-Stars in the late '40s. In 1950, DeFranco spent a year with Count Basie's Septet.He then led a small combo in the early 1950s which included pianist Sonny Clark and guitarist Tal Farlow. He also recorded an album with Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers on which he played bass clarinet. (AllMusic)

Very Good Plus (VG+): The vinyl is considered a good playable copy that may display more signs of wear than a VG++ grade, but one's overall listening experience will still be positive. Very Good (VG): Many of the defects seen in a VG+ record or jacket will be more pronounced on a VG album. The vinyl displays more visual blems, and even though surface noise is evident during play, it will still not overpower the music. Jackets will also have more numerous visual blems. All flaws will be noted in the item description.
Good (G): A record in good condition can be put onto a turntable and will play through without any repeating "skips", although it will have more severe audible surface noise and scratches than a VG record. Jackets will also have even more pronounced defects than a VG cover. This grade is usually reserved for impossibly rare records that are otherwise unattainable.
