Description

What must be one of the rarest records currently listed on eBay, this is a DEMO copy of Buddy Holly's 1st UK release; Blue Days - Black Nights c/w Love Me. Dating from 1956, there are 2 X 7" singles which are single-sided with bright pink labels (much brighter than they look on my awful pics). The labels state Demonstration sample.. and have printed numbers of 89280 and 89283 - the eventual cat no for the commercial release 05581 is handwritten on each label together with the running time. They come in plain brown sleeves and are in EX condition, there are some very light marks but play is great (just a little surface noise on Love Me but nothing at all major).
I'm not sure if I've ever seen these offered for sale before but the commercial release is "booked" at £800 so I have set a reasonable reserve for these beauties.
