Bach Double Concerto Milstein Morini Aust Columbia SAXO 2579 Magic Notes
Nathan Milstein and Erica Morini with Chamber Orchestra performs the “Double Concerto” of Bach, and with pianist Betty Fischer, the “Sonata for Two Violins”, BMV 1037. The record also includes the Vivaldi “Concerto in D minor for Two Violins”. An Australian pressing on the Columbia Label (SAXO 2579), the labels are blue/green with silver “radio waves” and border, and black lettering and stereophonic flash with tiny magic notes logo. The record has a few light scuffs, and a substantial scuff on side two (Bach Sonata) clicks on occasion – generally this is not very noticeable, but there is an extended period of about 10 revolutions. Otherwise the record is of very good appearance, and plays and sounds superb (excellent recording) with a minimum of surface noise. The cover laminate has rubbed a little with a slight ring and a few creases along the spine edge.
