CONDITION DETAILS GOLD PROMO stamp on back. Photos/credits insert included. Import from Spain. Vinyl plays nicely (play-graded). Cover looks great; a couple creases near edges; very light-scuffing and surface impressions (front/back). Inner-sleeve is generic white. Spine is easy-to-read with mild-wear. Shelf-wear along top/bottom-edge and corners. Opening is crisp with signs of light use and a few divots; blue pen mark near center of insde. (Not a cut-out.)
ABOUT THE RECORD Time and Tide is the debut album by Polish jazz and pop singer–songwriter Basia. Co-produced and mostly co-written by Basia herself and Danny White, it showcases considerable influences from Brazilian music, noted in the track Astrud, a tribute to Astrud Gilberto. The album is her first solo album following her departure from the band Matt Bianco. Basia would return to Matt Bianco seventeen years later for the album Matt's Mood, released in 2004. On November 3, 1989 the album was awarded a platinum sales certification by the RIAA for surpassing one million copies sold in the U.S. alone, with the singles Time and Tide, New Day for You, and Promises all achieving adult contemporary success and the former becoming a top thirty pop hit as well. New Day for You was also covered in Japanese by J-pop and future enka singer and actress Yoko Nagayama. The album peaked at #1 on Billboard Top Contemporary Jazz albums and #36 on Billboard 200.
