We are making changes and freshening up our listings as our discs dwindle down to a precious few, with great respect to Weill & Anderson authors of September Song, but the great old vinyl you have loved and purchased here will remain the same high quality for the coming months.  Truth is nothing lasts forever and sealed, mint or never played vinyl product from the sixties, seventies and eighties is disappearing fast and when it’s gone, it’s gone.  Rising packaging cost and ever changing new regulations from eBay really make this whole process a labor of love and often a non profit one at that. All of that is now complicated by a new breed of unscrupulous buyer, few yes, but never the less an annoying cost of doing business here.  So considering the above we are now requiring clients who win our vinyl auctions to add insurance to tracking on the USPS shipping requirements.  We are going to cover those costs, but the buyer will have to pay three dollars in addition to actual USPS Media or Priority charges to cover the cost of our corrugated mailer and corrugated inserts. If the buyer chooses to protect their purchase further they can request alternate shipping or additional protection.  It is factual that I did work many years in music promotion and most of the items I offer are from my own collection or from an associate who worked in the same field at the same time.  For many of those years I did work for Capitol, and later for Apple and I had been holding on to a few neat things that I’m now letting go.  From 1964 we have a lightly played copy of a unique piece of Capitol Records special services to radio.  Each month, from I believe 1964 thru 1967, they would produce a one hour radio show on 12” vinyl that any subscribing radio station could make there own, it was called the Silver Platter Service.  The disc contained various tracks from new album releases for that month and allowed the station to add their own commentary and commercials.  What we are offering here, as a no reserve auction, is a disk containing programs 133 and 134.  Being the November issue this disc contains Christmas Music.  From the Beach Boys we have Santa Clause Is Coming To Town, We Three Kings, Blue Christmas, Frosty The Snowman, Christmas Day, I’ll Be Home For Christmas, and Auld Lang Syne.  From the Hollyridge Strings - Little Saint Nick, Jo Stafford performs Christmas Is The Season and Winter Wonderland, Bing Crosby offers Do You Hear What I Hear, Nancy Wilson’s - That’s What I Want For Christmas, Nat King Cole’s - The Christmas Song, The Jackie Gleason Orchestra’s - Have Yourself A Very Merry Christmas, Al Martino’s - Your All I Want For Christmas and Adeste Fidelis by Carmen Dragon and I would think that would be The Hollywood Bowl Orchestra.  Interspersed in the music programming the producer and host Jack Wagner, interviews the artists about their latest release and that includes a rare conversation with Beach Boys leader Brian Wilson among others.  Vinyl has a high gloss surface, perfect labels and retains its original Capitol catalogue paper sleeve that does have a two inch cut through on bottom.
